Through the Steering Committee, senior leaders from LAIN member organisations provide leadership for and steer the agenda of the anchors programme.

Anchor institutions are working together through the Procurement Working Group to buy more goods and services from small, diverse-owned businesses and social enterprises in London.

The Hiring and Skills Working Group is focused on supporting more Londoners from underrepresented backgrounds into good work, and becoming more representative of London’s communities at all levels of their organisations.

The Mentoring Young People Working Group is focused on improving life chances and opportunities for disadvantaged young Londoners through quality mentoring and youth activities.

The Place Based Working Group is ensuring that anchor initiatives are rooted in the local, community fabric of London, linking up effectively with local authorities and local partnerships.

The Green New Deal working group is contributing to London’s net zero efforts, driving down carbon emissions by anchor institutions decarbonising their estates, fleets and deliveries, and rolling out carbon literacy training.

The Childcare Working Group aims to support more parents to access good work by championing flexible working policies and supporting the early years’ sector.
